I agree with Adam – knowledge of physics is useful, plus maths is essential. I’m a physicist by degree and an engineer (over a decade of which was aeronautical) by profession. You may find it useful and rewarding to join the Air Cadets. Also, ask your school (physics or engineering departments) whether they’d consider getting involved in the CanSat Challenge https://www.stem.org.uk/esero/secondary/competitions-and-challenges/cansat (an annual european space agency competition for schools) … I know a student who only last month got accepted for a degree apprenticeship at an aeronautical engineering company because of his involvement in this competition. I enjoy helping out with this competition because it gives students an unusual chance to get hands-on with many different elements of engineering design, build and launch.
